A prayer for the youth

A prayer by Betty King for the youth of the nations, following a prophetic dream in which a young man was attacking and killing people during a meeting of significant leaders.

Dear Saints,

I greet you in the precious Name of Jesus. In a recent e-mail, I shared a deeply prophetic dream that I had with pastors and leaders in the body of Christ.

In the weeks since that time, I have had cause to reflect further upon it and in doing so would like to honour John Paul Jackson for insights into the significance of the dream for the youth of the nations.

For our purposes today, you need to understand that a key element of the dream involved a young man that was attacking people with a knife and chopping them to death in the course of a gathering of significant leaders.

Saints, I believe that the fact that the murderous atrocity I saw in my dream was carried out by a young man in the heat of summer has caused me to sound this prayer alert for the youth.

Father, we thank you for your heart of deep love and compassion for the youth of the nations. We pray that every young person will have a revelation of and fully grasp the height, depth and breadth of your great love for them. Eph. 3:17-18.

We say that not one young person’s heart will be stolen or have their affections diverted by wrong relationships and negative alignments. We stand against every attempt to seduce the youth, to lure them away for satan’s purposes or to abuse their strength and vitality. We decree Godly relationships and call forth by faith God ordained covenant friendships in every life.

Nazarite generation:

We pray for the raising up of a Nazarite generation. Numbers 6:1-27. We confess and say that the youth of this generation will be known by their hunger for God’s holiness and purity. We declare that they will be identifiable as carriers of The Holy Spirit’s fire.

Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, we call forth a generation of Daniels who are radically committed to You. Dan. 1. We call forth Samuels that know Your voice. 1 Samuel 3:4 – 10. We cry out for Deborahs, Ruths, Esthers, Calebs and Joshuas.

Passionate devotion:

We decree that the youth will know and cling to Jesus as their first love. Leviticus 19:17-18, Phil. 3:1-11, Matt. 22:37-40, Mark 12:30, Luke 10:27. We tear down and contend against every strategy of the enemy to sway their hearts from a passionate devotion to Jesus. Leviticus 19:17-18.

We prophesy to the young people of the nations and say that they will be taught of the Lord and their peace shall be great. Isaiah 54:13.

Media

We declare that the media whether music based or electronic i.e. through social media channels will not define the youth of this generation. We declare that the youth of this generation will look to God for definition in their identities, personalities, value systems and beliefs.

Disappointment and Disillusionment:

Lord we pray for every young person that has been disappointed or disillusioned by their experiences or observations of ministry or church life. We speak healing to their hearts, encouragement to their spirits and peace to their minds. We prophesy an awareness of the fresh breath of the Holy Spirit upon their lives. Psalm 27:10. We declare a new season in their walk with Jesus and open a portal of heaven over them through our prayers. We confess and say that the Lord Himself is their teacher.

Hunger and Thirst:

Father, we pray that in this season the youth will hunger and thirst for You and that they will sincerely desiring the milk of Your word. We confess that they will be satisfied in You alone and that they will grow in wisdom, knowledge and stature to the glory of Your most awesome name. Matt. 5:6, 1 Peter 2:2; Luke 2:52.

Impartation and Release:

By faith now and with one accord, we impart life, hope and freedom to the youth of the nations. We call forth every young person gripped by depression or despair. We break bondages of addiction to food, drugs, alcohol, gambling, pornography or illicit sex and we say “arise man and woman of God, shake off your shackles and chains for the Lord has need of you”.

Right now we speak to forces of darkness and wickedness and command that in the matchless name of Jesus you loose your grip and hold of youth of the most high God.

Youth of the nations, we speak the blood of the Lamb of God over you. We call you holy, precious and anointed. We declare that you are free to take your place, walk in your God-ordained destiny and shine forth the glory of God in Jesus Name, Amen.
