Police suggest churches provide a safe place at Halloween for anyone who feels threatened

October 31st – Halloween

Concern has been expressed by some members of the police diversity team about hallowe’en. It appears that some ‘older folk’ feel threatened by the ‘trick or treaters’ who knock at their door. There has been a suggestion that churches might provide a safe place for the evening for anyone who feels threatened. St Lalluwy’s at Menheniot and St Hugh’s at Quethiock will be having café-style sanctuary gatherings at 6pm. Perhaps you could think about doing something similar in your parish if the local police think there are people feeling threatened where you are. For further information about the events at St Lulluwy’s and St Hugh’s please contact Revd Jem Thorold. jem33wheel@aol.com
