Family Matters Fostering: Have you got room in your heart, your home and your life?

We are looking for short and long term foster carers who can give a young person (generally 12 – 17 years old) the support they need through difficult times. Adults with experience of caring for people with challenging behaviours are particularly welcome.

Pay starts at £325 per week and we provide regular training and effective support. We also offer our carers two weeks paid holiday per year, plus a 4 hour paid break each week and extra breaks in the half term and holiday periods.

If you are interested in fostering and are available to attend a 3 day training course in the Camborne area on July 23rd, 24th and 25th, please call us now at Family Matters Fostering to arrange a local interview.

Foster carers wanted in Cornwall

Family Matters Fostering Ltd is an Independent Fostering Agency, established by a Christian family in Kent in 2000 and working in Cornwall since 2001.

We recognize that looking after children, particularly other people’s children who may well be traumatised by their past experiences, can be stressful and exhausting.  Traditionally, practical help and advice has been available to families from Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and trusted family friends and we have recreated this extended family system by using full and part time carers, enabling the main foster carers to share the load, and benefit from the friendship and support of other qualified foster carers of all ages.

Family Matters main foster carers may be single people or couples, with or without children of their own. Our carers have children living with them full time and are given regular time off whilst the children are looked after by Carer support workers. This means that the fostered children benefit from healthy relationships with a variety of interested and motivated adults, both young and old, who look after them one evening a week, as well as arranging some daytime trips. Our senior carers work closely with each carer giving informal support, and our social workers supervise and give more formal back up. At Family Matters the pay is good for both main and respite carers, and all main foster carers are entitled to fully paid holidays when their foster children are looked after for them. We run excellent on going training courses, using recognised experts in their subjects.

We are seeking to recruit more carers in Cornwall.  If you are interested in knowing more, please ring us on 0845 226 9480 or check out our website on www.fml.org.uk.
