The National Parenting Initiative

The National Parenting Initiative is encouraging churches across the UK to run a parenting course, reaching out to broken families across the UK. NPI is supported by New Wine, Alpha, Hillsong, Vineyard, Audacious Manchester, New Frontiers, Care for the Family, Pioneer, Redeemed Church of God and by the Baptist, Anglican, Catholic and Methodist churches. Parenting courses offer real potential for changing society, giving parents the confidence and tools they need to strengthen and enjoy their family life.

Parenting Courses

Over 5 weeks that can be broken into 10 shorter sessions Nicky and Sila Lee draw on their own experience to give valuable advice and practical tips. The course is for those parenting 0 to 10-year-olds. After the talk there is small group discussion.

The sessions are:
1. Building strong foundations
2. Meeting our children’s needs
3. Setting boundaries
4. Teaching healthy relationships
5. Our long term aim

The Parenting Teenagers Course

Over 5 weeks, that can be broken into 10 shorter sessions. The course is for those parenting 11 to 18-year-olds and for those with younger children who wish to prepare for the teenage years. After the talk there is small group discussion.

The sessions are:
1. Keeping the end in mind
2. Meeting our teenager’s needs
3. Setting boundaries
4. Developing Emotional Health
5. Helping our teenagers make good choices
