In May this year my wife was woken at 5:30am with a strong sense that God was asking us to drop everything and go to Ffald y Brenin, a Christian Prayer and Retreat Centre in South Wales. Despite all other planned activities He and our friends prevailed in convincing us to go on that day. Even the enemy did not want us to go as we tried to book into Fflad y Brenin and B&B and guest houses close by, the nearest was 35 miles away at Pembroke Dock but go we did with such incredible speed.
Whilst there we witnessed the same as many have done, as recorded in the Grace Outpouring book by Roy Godwin, the presence of God and knowing His incredible blessing.
In the chapel we prayed with two volunteers from the Prayer Centre and we waited on God as to what the next stage was to be in this mission. The volunteers blessed us and prayed with us and God opened up His desire to see a Prayer House built in Cornwall to serve the body of Christ. He was also specific about it being a log cabin, that there would be two caravans for volunteer hosts and guests to use, that it would be called Hebron (the land inherited by Caleb), and that the soil was to be symbolically taken back to Cornwall representively carrying the blessing of Ffald y Brenin to Cornwall and His new work in the House of Prayer and in Cornwall.
At that stage it seemed the earliest start date would be September but in His incredible wisdom he lined up the people, cabin and resources to be available starting the 12th July, and six weeks later the building work was completed. Before and during the building process God had us on a personal journey of establishing a rhythm of prayer and building a “House of Prayer” into our daily lives, we knew that the building was to be a facility for what He would establish within us. We do not have enough words to express how grateful we are to Him and the body of Christ for the generosity and hard work that has been put into achieving the miracle of this facility being made available. He is pleased, we are blessed.
The House of Prayer was officially opened on Sunday 1st September with Dave and Viv Viol leading us in prayers of dedication, and the Father leading us in a time of corporate worship and prayer. During the afternoon some 60 plus people from various parts of the body of Christ gathered and thanked God for His provision. The House is now open 24hours a day 365 days a year for any Christian individual or group to come and seek His face. We believe this is not just a place to shelter under the shadow of His wings but also to be equipped to be sent out into His mission field.
On Monday I believe God dropped a gem of a definition of what the House of Prayer is, into my heart and mind as we shared with Howard Barnes, “This is the dressing room for the bride of Christ – a place where the whole body can come and prepare herself for His return in His presence.” You are warmly invited to come any time, if you come at night please phone us to gain the access code for the gate and let us know for security reasons.
