A year ago the Wadebridge Foodbank opened the StoreHouse. The growth of StoreHouse over the last year has been phenomenal. More and more families and individuals that Wadebridge Foodbank meet are in need of furniture and basic household items that most of us could not consider living without.
Members of the community donate second hand furniture, white goods and household items in good condition to the StoreHouse, and these are given free of charge to someone in need, or sold for a reasonable price in the small StoreHouse Charity shop.
Furniture, white goods and other household items that are clean, fully working and in good condition are welcome. Upholstered items must meet fire regulations. No non-digital TVs please. Small items can be dropped into the Shop, or contact the Storehouse about larger items.
The StoreHouse charity shop is at Unit 1, Chapel Lane, Wadebridge. PL27 7NJ. Chapel Lane is between Foundry Court and Molesworth Street and the shop is near the top on the right-hand side.
The shop is open:
- every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
The StoreHouse also have temporary use of the shop next door to Julian Foye’s at the Pannier Market, which they use to showcase the furniture available. This shop is open on Mondays only, from 10:00am to 4:00pm. They are hoping to extend the opening hours soon.
If you see something at the Pannier Market site that you are interested in when the shop is closed, please drop into the Chapel Lane shop or call the StoreHouse on 01208 813110, and they will arrange to meet you there at a mutually convenient time.
The StoreHouse also needs volunteer drivers to collect and deliver furniture – can you help?
Income from the StoreHouse Charity Shop contributes towards the costs of running the Wadebridge Foodbank.
Collection bins for Foodbank donations are now in Tesco, Padstow and Co-op Wadebridge. Please add a couple of items to your trolley and drop them in! Any items of food from the list on the Foodbank website are always gratefully received.
