INCLUSIVE CHURCH RESOURCES
Featured in the October issue of the Social Responsibility Briefing – October 2014 these look like invaluable resources, for any community.
The first 2 books in the series are on Mental Health and Disability.
Each book has an introduction, theological reflection, stories from lived experience and a practical resource section.
The book on Disability has an introduction by former IC trustee Clare Herbert with a theology of disability by John Hull.
The book on Mental Health has an introduction by Eva McIntryre, and a theological section by Jean Vanier and John Swinton. The remaining books will be published in pairs. In November 2014: Sexuality by Susannah Cornwall and Poverty by Susan Durber. In March 2015: Ethnicity by Michael Jagessar and Gender by Rosemary Lain Priestley.
These are ideal books for clergy, lay leaders, parish ministry teams, PCC members. They could be the basis of material for home group study. Each church should have a set and encourage members to read them.
Every registered church should have these for sale on their bookstall!
This is something that Inclusive Church members and supporters should be proud about, celebrating and promoting!
