New Generation is a cross-denominational movement of young Christians meeting in groups to pray and do creative outreach in their schools, colleges and universities. Some put up posters, give away cakes or organise theme days. Others clean up their schools, give Bibles to friends or speak at assemblies. All of them aim to contribute to a positive environment and make the message of Jesus available to their generation. The dream of New Generation is to see a Christian presence in every school in Britain and give every young person the chance to hear the Gospel at least once a year.
Start a New Generation group in your school
If your school doesn’t yet have a CU, New Generation can support you in starting a group. Most New Generation groups meet once or twice a week to pray for the school and for classmates, and to plan/do outreaches and social action. Your school group will be independent and you can make your own decisions about what you do as a group, but by being connected to New Generation’s national organisation you will receive training, resources, free downloads, coaching, support and visits from our regional Teams. All for free.
Support New Generation
New Generation has three teams of gap year volunteers who work to support existing school groups, start up new groups and spread the word through giving presentations at churches. You can also support New Generation as a church or as an individual.
Loads of resources
There’s a regular magazine to keep you up to date on the latest news and loads of videos on Vimeo sharing what’s happening at different schools in the UK and around the world. There’s also a special section of the site for those who lead the group in your school, and for those who are the only Christian in their school. That’s as well as testimonies, prayer requests, advice and support for starting a new group and lots of good ideas for outreach and fundraising.
