In the run-up to Christmas, please consider writing a simple card or letter of encouragement to Maryam.
From Release International:
Maryam Naghash-Zargaran has served just over half of her four-year sentence. Being a follower of Jesus in Iran comes at a cost, not only to the individual believer, but to their wider family circle. In 2011, when Maryam was summoned to appear before the Iranian intelligence services and interrogated about her conversion to Christianity and her involvement in house church activities, her family were also harassed. Later, when she was officially charged and sent to prison, the title deeds of a family home were surrendered as part of her bail.
Whilst in prison, Maryam has been interrogated, humiliated and denied medical treatment for serious health problems. The constant pressure and harsh treatment have made what would normally be a very painful experience even more difficult. Please support Maryam by praying for her and for her family.
Thank you for all your support for Christians who have been imprisoned for their faith.
By praying for, supporting and writing to, and on behalf of, prisoners of faith you are fulfilling the biblical exhortation to ‘REMEMBER THOSE IN PRISON’ (Hebrews 13:3).
