Statement of Beliefs

  • We believe that there is only one God, who is eternal and exists as three distinct persons: Father God, Jesus Christ His Son and the Holy Spirit
  • We believe that the Holy Bible is the Word of God and that it is truth and has absolute authority in faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that he was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Although God, Jesus chose to live as man to reveal the love of His Father to us and to tell us the Good News of the Kingdom. He performed miracles of healing and deliverance, resurrections, signs and wonders to show what man can do when filled with the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe Jesus Christ died on the cross to cleanse us of the sin that had prevented us from coming into the presence of our Father God. The only way to the Father is through this sacrifice made by Jesus.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead and appeared to the disciples on earth to show us that He has conquered death and to commission us to spread the Good News of the Kingdom everywhere. He then returned to His Father in heaven where He has authority to intercede with the Father on our behalf. He actively works with His Father God and the Holy Spirit to bless all that He has created.
  • We believe that man was created in God’s image, but tempted to sin by Satan he became mortal and separated from God’s presence. Man is saved from sin, given eternal life and restored to God’s presence by repenting of sin, believing that Jesus Christ’s death on the cross has cleansed him of sin and by trusting and living out the Word of God.
  • We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts us of sin and leads us to repentance and to Jesus Christ. By His power the Holy Spirit enables us to be born again and He illuminates the Word of God to increase our faith. When we ask him to, the Holy Spirit lives in us and He works in our lives to bear the fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility and self-control. It is the power of the Holy Spirit that enables man to obey God and to do that which Jesus did.
  • We believe that all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ are our brothers and sisters and we actively seek community together “for we are all baptised by one Spirit into one body – whether Jews or Greeks, slaves or free – and we are all given the one Spirit to drink” (1 Corinthian 12:13)
  • We believe that everyone will be justly dealt with on judgement Day by Jesus Christ, that some will be given eternal life and some will be eternally punished (Matthew 25:31-46)
  • We believe in the power of forgiveness and of speaking blessings over others, in loving our neighbour as ourselves. We believe that understanding God’s love for us enables us to love others as God does. We believe that by forgiving others we are forgiven and enter God’s presence. We believe that when we bless others, including our enemies, we enable those we bless to experience God’s presence.
